Cover photo shoot for Gastronomique en Vogue magazine’s holiday issue

Atelier is always so honored to participate in many wonderful creative fashion events, such as the Santana Row Fashion Shows, Beauty Bash, and photo shoots for South Bay Magazine, Gentry, and more.

Being asked to be the hair and makeup team for Gastronomique en Vogue magazine’s Holiday 2015 issue was one of those honors.  And once we found out who our models were, well…let’s just say we were a bit starstruck!

Read the description of the article, as written by the magazine’s editor herself, Kaye Cloutman:

What is the true concept of celebrity? At GEV, we are constantly besieged with pitches from PR firms about their celebrity clients. While this is flattering, we also feel we have a huge responsibility to the community regarding who we feature. Fame is great but when the question arises “what has this person done for the community?” more often than not you can hear a pin drop while waiting for the answer. Therefore, it is a true honor that we are not only graced by one but five individuals in the Bay Area who I consider Santa’s true helpers all year round. These people, despite their media stature, are truly grounded individuals who celebrate the human spirit on a daily basis and help generate a ripple effect of good intentions everywhere they go. I cannot even begin to count the times I’ve seen them behind their microphones as a voice for those without access to food, medical care, housing or education. May we all take inspiration from them not just because of who they are but what they have done and are devoted to doing in succeeding years. Meet our gorgeous cover models Leslie Sbrocco (PBS, Check Please! Bay Area), Liam Mayclem (CBS, Foodie Chap), Joel Riddell (iHeart Radio, Dining Around) Marybeth La Motte (Red Carpet Bay Area) & Mika Takeuchi (Foodfashionista.com). Read all about them in our gift guide issue here.

Yes, that’s right, some of the Bay Area’s top food folks were the cover models.  We assembled a team of top talents from Atelier, and off to set we went!  The day flew by as we got to be as creative as we wanted to be. The Beauty Editor of GEV magazine, Josette Jelveh, gave us free rein, while the fantastic photographer, Vincent Gotti, kept snapping shot after gorgeous shot.  At the end of it all, we were treated to a sumptuous dinner at Roots & Rye, complete with a bit of bubbly.  We were grateful for the experience, and yes, it was fun to dine with food experts!  Truly a day to remember!
